Cycle Tour in Istria

Bright sunshine, deep blue water, historic towns, great landscape, that's Istria. You can expect narrow fjord-like bays, blooming orchid landscapes, picturesque old towns, modern resorts and lots of greenery. The tour takes you along the Adriatic coast and you are very close to the country and its people on the bike. Naturally, the routes are not always flat, but so short that every cyclist can enjoy this bike tour in Istria. And if you want, stay on board the motor sailer MS Morena.

Day 1 Arrival to Poreč, Novigrad - Umag,  approx. 23 km/14 mi
Embarkation until 12 o'clock, boat trip to Novigrad. From there bike ride along the sea to Umag.

Day 2 Cycle tour on Umag, approx. 60 - 65 km/37 - 40 mi
Today you will experience 2 countries - you will cycle along the coast to Portorož in Slovenia and back through the Croatian hinterland. Overnight stay in Novigrad.

Day 3 Poreč - Vrsar, approx. 32/20 mi
After a boat ride with a swim break, the bike tour leads along the sea to Vrsar. Worth seeing is the sculpture park Džamonja.

Day 4 Vrsar - Limfjord nature reserve, approx 43 km/27 mi
Through larger forests we go to the interesting ruined town of Dvigrad in the Limska Draga valley. This widens to the Limfjord, where mussel and oyster farming is practiced. Overnight stay in the charming town of Rovinj.

Day 5 Rovinj - Pula, approx. 40 km/25 mi
You will cycle along the sea through the Palud bird reserve. Off the coast are the Brijuni Islands, where you can swim in a bay. Enjoy the evening in the Roman city of Pula.

Day 6 Pula - Cape Kamenjak, approx. 49 km/30 mi
In the morning you will cycle to the Cape Kamenjak Nature Park, the southernmost point of the Istrian peninsula with unique flora and fauna. Then the boat will take you to the Brijuni Islands, national park and once Tito's summer residence.

Day 7 Cycle tour on Veliki Brijun, approx. 17 km/11 mi
Leisurely final tour on the island of Veliki Brijun. In the afternoon boat trip with bathing break to Poreč.

Day 8 Disembarking and departure
Unfortunately after breakfast your cycling tour in Istria will already come to an end.

The booking process

Arrival "Cycle Tour in Istria":

• Parking in Poreč:
  Arrival to the guarded parking lot (parking in Poreč, must be booked together with the trip.), the port can be reached on foot, luggage transfer is included in the parking fee. Embarkation until approx. 12 o'clock. Followed by a welcome drink and snack on board, then boat crossing to Novigrad.

• Arrival at Pula Airport:
  From there with transfer to Poreč (The transfer Pula - Poreč - Pula, must be booked with the trip). Arrival at Pula airport by 10:30 am.

• If you arrive after 12:00 o'clock, you have to get on the train in Umag.

Personal bikes:
In principle, you can bring your own bike along. However, please note that your bike will be loaded on and off the boat twice a day along with several others and therefore slight cosmetic damage to individual bikes cannot be ruled out, which is why we do not take responsibility or liability for such damage. We recommend reserving one the excellent rental bikes we offer.

Perfectly looked after:
During your tour, we are available between 8 am and 8 pm, 7 days a week. We are happy to help with any kind of problems you might be having. You will find this emergency number in your travel documents.
