Cycle tour Aeolian Islands

Sicily - sun, sea and good food, active volcanoes in a picturesque landscape. This tour on the classic gulet MS Sundial is the perfect way to discover the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Aeolian Islands. This trip offers a great mix of relaxation and activity: discover the volcanic islands with their breathtaking landscapes, hidden bays and ancient villages by bike and on foot. In between, you can relax on board and enjoy the Italian dolce vita.

Day 1 Arrival in Milazzo
Embarkation from 6 pm. Savour your first dinner on board the Gulet Sundial. 

Day 2 Cycle tour to Capo di Milazzo, approx. 15 km/9 mi
Today's stage will take you to the Venus Lagoon, an enchanted place with turquoise-blue shimmering water, separated from the open sea by lava rocks.

Day 3 Boat trip, cycle tour Vulcano, approx. 20 km/ 12 mi
Bike tour through the breathtaking landscape on the island of Vulcano, also known as the "sulfur island".

Day 4 Boat trip, Stromboli, hiking tour, approx. 3 1/2 hours
Enjoy the boat trip along the small volcanic islands Lisca Bianca, Bottara, Dattilo and Panarea. On Stromboli, you’ll hike up to an altitude of 400 m to admire the volcanic eruptions at dusk. Overnight stay in a sheltered hostel.

Day 5 Boat trip, Panarea, hiking tour, 2 1/2 hours, Salina
On foot, you’ll also explore the small village of Panarea and Drautto Beach with its prehistoric settlement. Explore the small harbor town on Salina in the evening.

Day 6 Cycle tour Salina, approx. 20 km/12 mi + boat trip
You’ll cycle across the island of Salina to Pollara, a lookout point on the west coast. Boat trip to Lipari.

Day 7 Lipari, cycle tour, approx. 25 km/ 16 mi + boat trip
Bike tour along the wonderful coast of Lipari. After you have explored the historical center of Lipari, you will take the boat back to Milazzo.

Day 8 Departure
After breakfast your cycle tour Lipari Islands ends. Disembarkation until 9 am.

Rental bicyles:

• We offer comfortable e-bikes with 9-speed derailleur gears, equipped with lock and luggage bag. As space is limited, it will not be possible to bring your own bike on this tour.
• There is a helmet obligation on the part of the ship agency. We recommend using your own due to the variety of head sizes and shapes and for hygienic reasons.

The booking process

Arrival to "Cycle tour Aeolian Islands":

• Arrival by car:
  A3 Salerno-Reggio Calabria motorway to Villa San Giovanni. There, you take the ferry to Messina. From Messina take A18 motorway to Catania.
  In Catania it is advisable to park the car in a guarded parking lot. From there, take a cab to to the ferry terminal.
   
• Arrival by train:
  Train station Milazzo, aprox. 3,5 km / 2 mi distance to the harbour. We recommend to take a cab directly to the ship.
   
• Arrival by airplane:
  Catania airport, then taxi to the boat.

Personal bikes:
As space is limited, it will not be possible to bring your own bike on this tour.

Perfectly looked after:
During your tour, we are available between 8 am and 8 pm, 7 days a week. We are happy to help with any kind of problems you might be having. You will find this emergency number in your travel documents.
