    The Havel Cycle Path on MS Jan van Scorel - Potsdam

    The Havelland stretches from Berlin to the river Elbe and features glacial forests, fields and wetlands. You’ll find beautiful, well-tended towns amid the impressive landscape, which Theodor Fontane immortalised in his literature. The Havel Cycle Path is splendidly constructed and runs alongside the river. It’s suitable for novices and seasoned cyclists alike. The tour commences in Berlin.

    Day 1 Arrival in Berlin-Spandau
    Embarkation at 4 pm. Go for a stroll around the historic centre in the evening, or visit the Spandau citadel.

    Day 2 Spandau - Potsdam, approx. 30 km/19 mi
    On your first stage, you’ll get to see the beautiful countryside around the Wannsee lake and the upscale villa district in the west of Berlin.

    Day 3 Round trip Potsdam, approx. 18 km/11 mi
    A half-day guided bike tour will take you to the most beautiful castles, palaces and parks, and in the afternoon you’ll get to explore Potsdam under your own steam.

    Day 4 Potsdam - Brandenburg, approx. 59 km/36 mi
    Further along the Havel, with its many large and small lakes, you’ll reach the picturesque town of Brandenburg, which you’ll get to discover on a guided tour in the evening.

    Day 5 Brandenburg - Rathenow, approx. 60 km/37 mi
    The West Havelland nature park offers loads of nature (with very few people), Rathenow is the cradle of the optical industry.

    Day Rathenow - Havelberg, approx. 48 km/30 mi
    The Havel’s tailwater is a flooding space and thus is a habitat to many rare animals.
    You will find impressive old and modern buildings in the hanseatic town of Havelberg.

    Day 7 Round trip Elbe river, approx. 40 km/25 mi
    Today, you’ll be cycling to the Havel estuary and proceed to the Rühstadt visitor’s centre, where you can learn everything about storks in their natural habitat.

    Day 8 Departure
    After breakfast, your tour on the Havel cycle path with the MS Jan van Scorel concludes.

      Car park "Rathaus Spandau", approx. 300 m to the hythe, cost approx. EUR 4,50/day. No reservations possible.

    • Arrival by train:
      Berlin-Spandau station

    • Arrival by plane:
      Airport Berlin-Tegel

    Return transfer:

    • by bus to Glöwen train station (approx. 15 min); by train to Berlin-Spandau, every hour, duration approx. 1 h, no change, standard fare approx. EUR 15
