Boat & Bike in Masuria

Masuria, the southern part of the region formerly known as East Prussia and Poland‘s largest lake district is the destination of this journey. Many have left their mark here: the Baltic Prussians, the Teutonic Order, the evangelic Masurians and the Prussian State. Since then the Polish government has transformed the densely wooded Masurian lake district into a touristic area. The region offers countless water sport activities and can easily be explored by bike. As this tour by boat and bike in Masuria will take you through slightly hilly terrain, you should have a basic level of physical fitness.

Day 1 Arrival in Mikołajki
You can either take the Masuria shuttle from Warsaw or travel directly to Mikołajki. Tour briefing and bike hand-over.

Day 2 Round trip Lake Łuknajno, approx. 20 km/13 mi
Time to explore Mikolajki, the round tour leads to the Lake Łuknajno in the Biosphere Reservate, with a variety of rare water birds.

Day 3 Mikołajki - Kamień, approx. 35 km/22 mi + boat trip
The bike tour will take you past the place where the primeval Tarpan horse was back bred. Boat trip from Kamień.

Day 4 Ryn - Wilkasy, approx. 50 km/31 mi + boat trip
On your journey you will come across the Wolf's Lair, Adolf Hitler's Eastern Front military headquarters, Kętrzyn is more enjoyable with its fortress and fortified church.

Day 5 Round trip to Lake Gołdopiwo, approx. 54 km/33 mi
Gizycko is the urban highlight of this tour, which is otherwise characterised by nature.

Day 6 Ryn - Mikołajki, approx. 42 km/26 mi + boat trip
Ryn’s fortress is a beautiful Baroque building. The farm house museum in Sądry is also worth seeing.

Day 7 Round trip Pisz heathland and Krutyń, 43 km/27 mi
In Wojnowo there is an orthodox Philipon monastery. A punting trip in Krutyń is also worthwhile.

Day 8 Disembarkation and departure

The booking process

Arrival to "Boat & Bike in Masuria":

• Arrival by car:
  - parking airport Warsaw, approx. 80 €/week, transfer bus (Masuren-Shuttle) approx. 03:00 pm
  - parking nearby the boat in Mikołajki 55 €, payable on site

• Arrival by train:
  Warsaw "Warszawa Centralna", transfer bus (Masuren-Shuttle) approx. 04:00 pm

• Arrival by plane:
  - airport "Frederik Chopin", transfer bus (Masuren-Shuttle) approx. 03:00 pm

Return journey (Masurian shuttle):

• Departure from Mikołajki at about 07:00 am.
• Arrival:

Personal bikes:
In principle, you can bring your own bike along. However, please note that your bike will be loaded on and off the boat twice a day along with several others and therefore slight cosmetic damage to individual bikes cannot be ruled out, which is why we do not take responsibility or liability for such damage. We recommend reserving one the excellent rental bikes we offer.
Price for transfer of personal bikes with Masuren Shuttle: on request approx. 60 € bidirectional.
